This paper mainly introduces the requirements for the general counter in the verification regulation of general counters, and gives a brief explanation of the new and revised items in the new verification regulations. The general counter devices mentioned in this article are all based on SYN5636 standard reference.

The latest version of the general counter verification regulation is JJG 349-2014, which replaced the previous version of JJG 349-2001. The new regulations were formulated and implemented. Compared with the old version, the standard requirements of metrological performance were improved relatively. The lower limit of the cycle measurement and the upper limit of the frequency measurement were increased, and the verification method was revised, refined and supplemented.
