In the vast area of missile and space trials, in order to achieve the measurement and control of missiles and spacecrafts, there are many devices and systems. This work will require a unified time. Therefore, the equipment and Beidou time server have been widely applied in military, aerospace, communication, transportation, power and financial fields. This article briefly introduces the system composition of the shooting range, the timing system and the commonly used timing mode and interface of the Beidou time server.
Shooting range is a multi-disciplinary, multi-level and high-tech intensive place. From the point of view of system engineering. It is composed of many engineering disciplines, which form a complete large-scale system. The system can be divided into six systems: test launch system, control system, communication system, command and dispatch system, geodetic and meteorological service support system, power supply and transportation system, etc. The shooting range timing system serves the range communication system, measurement control system, command and control system and launch test system. It is an important guarantee for weapon testing in range. The target field sets the following tasks for timing system: timing, frequency correction, transmission of signal (or take-off signal), output signal and recording.
Usually, the Beidou time server user segment can be divided into three parts: the general station, the sub station and the terminal.

The output interface between Beidou time server and user equipment is also a major source of timing error. Therefore, the design of time integration equipment needs to consider the interface problem comprehensively. Generally speaking, the user output method of time series equipment is serial port time message output, pulse output, time code output and network time output. For users who do not specify user output, user interface universality should be considered.
Time server serial port time message output is through the serial port to transmit the two sides of the agreed time information, such as year, month, day and minute, to the user equipment. The serial port communication interface is generally RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485. The latter two ways are differential transmission mode, which has stronger anti-interference ability and farther transmission distance.
The time code output of Beidou time server usually adopts IRIG-B range time coding, which is a serial time code by the subordinate body of the US range command Commission. It is divided into direct current code (DC) alternating current code (AC), DC code is usually transmitted to user equipment by serial communication, such as DC232 level interface or DC485 level interface.
The serial time message output can provide clear time information to the user equipment, but due to the delay of the serial port transmission, the timing accuracy is low. Pulse output has high timing accuracy, but it can not provide complete time information.
